The Sawing Module can be upgraded to use a 500mm blade. On machines with the older safety system, the larger 500mm blade cuts through the safety switch when doing 90 degree cuts.

Solution

A block has been designed which relocates the safety switch out of the way of the blade, cutting at any angle.

Required Parts

Part Number Description Quantity
F0000004 M4 x 12 Socket Caphead Screws 2
F0000057 M4 Form A Washer 2
D0010924 Guard Switch Relocation Block 1

Instructions

  1. Remove bolt from handle which corresponds to where the relocation block is going to be mounted. Loosely refit the nut and bolt for the handle, now securing the relocation block.
  2. Mark off where to drill 2 off clearance holes in the hood door which correspond to the 2 horizontally aligned holes on the block. (The 2 vertically aligned holes are to remount the guard switch key).
  3. Fit 2 off M4 x 12 Socket Cap Screws and 2 off M4 washers to secure block to hood door. Now tighten bolt securing handle to hood door. Once fitted, drill/cut out new hole on Saw Top Hood to allow key to pass through.
  4. Install guard switch key onto relocation block, and align guard switch to suit.
