Correct procedure for Flowline Gripper Insert fitment

Problem

Gripper finger can either come loose due to screw not being tight enough, or the screw can be over tightened resulting in damage to the gripper arm.

...The gripper arm has two holes in it to make it "unhanded" for fitting to both left-to-right and right-to-left feed machines

Parts Required

M4x10 grubscrew or M5x10 grubscrew (Some of the Gripper Arms have been drilled and tapped out to M5)

Fitment

  1. Undo the retaining grubscrew in the top to remove old gripper
  2. Fit the new gripper finger, screwing it into the gripper arm fully. The gripper should be fitted in the hole position closest to backfence
  3. Back off until it sits in the correct alignment ie teeth downwards. See picture.
  4. Tighten retaining grubscrew to finger tight only

...The grubscrew is to prevent the insert form turning and coming out. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. It is easy to damage the assembly by driving the insert through the retaining arm by applying too much torque to the grubscrew
