Title: | Importance of Outfeed Clear Sensor |
Following an H&S Incident (0005 – Nova Profile Ejecting), all flowlines and ZXs need to be checked to ensure the “Outfeed Clear” sensor is working. The incident proved that if the sensor fails, the outfeed may not be clear and hence the profile can be pushed back through the machine.
A software update should be installed (contact GG) and the sensor tested for correct function.
The “useOutfeedClear” parameter should be switched on. This software update checks the sensor for the on state before ejecting, and then the off state after ejecting to check that the sensor is functional and not “always off”.
** REMEMBER TO CHECK ON DARK PROFILE if using an opto sensor**
It is possible to upgrade to using an ultrasonic sensor - see https://stuga.dokit.app/wiki/TB0394_Fitting_Ultrasonic_Sensor_to_Flowline_OCLEAR
If the part is faulty, it needs to be replaced with:
1 off E0000231 sensor
1 off E0000375 cable
A ZX3 / 4 machine may not have this part fitted and would need the following kit (see TB0161 for fitting, but ignore software part as this is for Neuron machines).
