This document defines the standard naming convention for teach programs used on Stürtz CNC cleaner machines. These machines clean weld sprue from uPVC profile joints. The naming protocol ensures clarity, consistency, and traceability across all program files.

1. Overview of Weld Types

Stürtz cleaner programs cover two types of welds:

  • Corner Welds: Mitred joints where two profiles meet at 90 degrees.
  • Transom Welds: One profile (transom) intersects another, typically forming a T-joint.

Each program file defines the machining required to clean a specific profile combination and weld type.

2. Profile Systems

Multiple profile systems may be in use. Common examples include:

  • Rehau: Identified by 6-digit numeric profile codes (e.g., 546725).
  • Eurocell: Identified by codes starting with "EWS" (e.g., EWS7719).

Important: Teach programs generally involve profiles from a single system only. Mixing profile systems does not generally happen

3. File Naming Format

Teach program filenames follow this format:

<Profile1Code><Modifiers1>-<Profile2Code><Modifiers2>_<SurfaceCode>

Profile1Code The vertical or main profile code
Profile2Code (optional) The horizontal or transom profile code.
Modifiers (optional) Indicate special orientation or use.
SurfaceCode A two-digit code indicating foil/gasket combination

4. Modifiers

Apply modifiers directly after each profile code as needed:

  • R = Reversed orientation
  • T = Used as a transom (horizontal member)
  • K = Non-standard use as a transom profile

Examples:

546725R = Profile 546725 reversed

EWS7019TK = Profile EWS7019 used as a non-standard transom

5. Surface/Gasket Codes

Each filename ends with a two-digit suffix representing surface and gasket configuration:

Note: The term "foiled" is used throughout this document in accordance with UK industry terminology. It is synonymous with "coated."

6. Examples

546725RT-546715K_14: Rehau system; 546725 reversed and used as transom; 546715 used as transom; both sides foiled + gasket.

EWS7719T-EWS7719TK_11: Eurocell system; both profiles used as transoms; unfoiled + gasket.

546715_01: Rehau system; identical profiles; unfoiled.

7. File Management Guidance

All teach program files should be stored in designated system folders.

Use underscores and dashes exactly as defined.

Maintain lowercase/uppercase consistency across filenames.
