Universal Gripper Arm Assembled.jpeg

The pivot gripper limitations meant a redesign was necessary to the "Universal" Type

  • Profiles were specified with multiple webs, meaning the gripper was physically too big to fit in small chambers
  • Grippers needed to open higher and close to zero
  • Gripper height needed to be limited
  • There was a lot of confusion over handed grippers, the new design is unhanded
  • The addition of a removable gripper insert makes the changeover of the consumable part quick and easy

Unhanded, can be assembled to suit either hand machine.

Fitted with shear pin

Design idea was to stop the constant replacement of broken gripper arms.

Concept was diffcult to get properly reliable

Changes to software sequence at end of bar and sourcing cheaper alternatives made this design unnecessary
