Details on the R0019108 Zip Gate Opener Assembly
Problem
When fitting an RS Automation motor on an X axis, a larger diameter gearbox is required. If fitted to a machine with a zip gate system, this creates a problem with the gap needed for the Zip gate shafts - it is not wide enough.
Solution
Original solution was to supply shorter Zip ghate shafts, but this did not solve the entie issue, as the gearbox width is still too large, particulalrly when the zip gate opener is added. To overcome this, a flange for the gearbox was designed to becoime the zip gate opener.
Issues had to be overcome for the zip opening height
This was overcome by reducing the geabox plate mount width to drop the entire gearbox body blow the zip gates
The addition of the rear stainless gate opener allows the opening dimension to be correct and overcome this issue
Fitting Issues
Beware of the gearbox bung. It must not proturde and hit the zip gates as int he picture below
